Produciing music in many ways combines all the components of making traditional music: Understanding how singers and instrumentalists perform music. Knowing how composers structure and arrange melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to make songs. Being able to work as an music engineer; using microphones, sound boards, and other accoustic equipment to mix and record sounds. Along with these traditional techniques the modern music maker music now also be able to work with a computer and the software that connects us to sound production. Once a song is actually made then its time to create a file, post it, share it, and promote it.
Music production is not an easy class. It's a lot of work and requires the student to have initiative, desire, and tons of persitant focus. But for the developing musician/artist it contains tons of opportunity to investigate, learn, and be creative.
