• Graduation Requirements

    Students must complete and pass 4 credits in each of these subjects (16 total credits):

    • Social Studies
    • Mathematics
    • Science

    Students must complete and pass 1 credit in each of these subjects:

    • Art or Music and Second Language (2 total credits)

    Students must complete and pass (4 total credits):

    • Physical Education 2 credits (.5 unit ea./4)
    • Electives 1.5 credits

    Total 22 Credits

    Regents/Local Diploma Requirements

    In addition to the 22 credits required, District students will earn a Regents Diploma by passing the

    following five disciplines:

    Traditional Pathway

     Algebra 1 Common Core

     Living Environment

     Global History & Geo.

     U.S. History & Government

     ELA/Common Core

    Alternative Option

     1 Math (e.g. Algebra 1 Common Core)

     1 Science (e.g. Living Environment)

     1 Social Studies (e.g. Global History & Geo.)

     ELA/Common Core

     1 Pathway Assessment: (Sequence exam in: Science (Earth Science), Math (Geometry) or Social Studies (US History)

    Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation

    Students must complete 22 credits AND earn at least 65% on the following

    Regents Examinations:

    Traditional Pathway:

    • Living Environment*
    • Algebra 1/ Common Core**
    • Geometry/Common Core**
    • Global History and Geography
    • Earth Science*
    • ELA/Common Core
    • US History and Government
    • Algebra 2/Common Core**

    = Eight (8) RE Assessments

    * Two (2) sciences: (One must be life science and one must be physical science)

    ** Three (3) Math

    Alternative Option:

    STEM (Mathematics) Pathway Combination: ELA, one (1) social studies, four (4) math, two (2) science (1 must be life science and 1 must be physical science) = 8 Assessments

    STEM (Science) Pathway Combination: ELA, one (1) social studies, three (3) math, three (3) science (1 must be life science and 1 must be physical science) = 8 Assessments

    Pathway Combination (other than STEM): ELA, one (1) social studies, 3 math, 2 science (1 must be life science and 1 must be physical science), one (1) Pathway (other than science or mathematics such as a 5 credit sequence in music, art or career and technical education ‐ CTE) = 8 Assessments

    In addition to each of these combinations, a student must pass a foreign language locally developed LOTE (Spanish 3) examination
