  • Important Message from Mr. Touma. April 2020

    Dear Community Education Center/NFHS Parents/Guardians,

I hope you and your family are doing well during this unprecedented time in our history.  This letter provides an update about instruction and expectations for NFHS students during this closure.

Beginning Monday, April 13, 2020, instruction at the Community Education Center will begin on-line. Our goal is to use digital resources and strongly encourage online learning, so that we can continue practicing social distancing. Students may complete their work on any type of electronic device, including a cell phone.

What should students and parents/guardians do?

    1. Visit nfschools.net frequently and click on the “COVID-19 Crisis” tab for daily updates from the Superintendent.
    2. Join your teachers’ Remind messaging groups to stay up to date.
    3. Find your teachers’ websites to get your assignments.
    4. Every CEC teacher has a digital platform to use with students.
    5. If you need a reminder of the names of your child’s teachers, simply ask your child or check his or her report card.
    6. The Remind App codes, Teachers’ Websites, and other information can be found this way:
    7. Click on “COVID-19 Crisis”
    8. Click on “Parent and Student Resources”
    9. Click on the CEC Webpage
    10. The Community Education Center will continue to use Apex Digital Learning as our curriculum. The students have their own individual usernames and passwords. Please contact Mrs. Carroll at ecarroll@nfschools.net if you have a problem logging on to Apex.

Please support your child by encouraging them to remain committed to their studies.  The work that will be issued by teachers beginning April 13, 2020 will be counted towards the students’ 40-week marking period grades.  Students will also be provided an opportunity to make-up incomplete work from the 30-week marking period.  If frustration happens, please remind students to email their teacher(s) for assistance. Working together and reaching out for help when needed will ensure success.

    Sincerely,

Andrew P. Touma, Coordinator, Community Education Center
