    ELA Booster

    Mondays & Wednesdays with Mrs. Englander in room 320

    The purpose of the ELA Academic Program is to support the participants in reading and writing development which is aligned to the NYS Common Core State Standards. Students read to understand key ideas and details as well as craft and structure of Fiction and Non-Fiction text. Students write to conduct short as well as more sustained research projects based on focused questions to demonstrate an understanding of the subject under investigation.  In addition, students practice speaking and listening to evaluate a speaker’s point of view, reasoning, and use of evidence. 

     

    Math 7 Booster

    Mondays and Thursdays with Mr. Frommert in room 205

    The 21st Century Prep program is designed to provide academic programing for students seeking support in Math.  This program allows re-teaching of previously taught math concepts, pre-teaching of future math concepts and provides individualized instruction to meet the unique needs of each student.  Programming is one hour each day with seventh grade students being the target group.

     

    Math 8 Booster

    Wednesdays with Mr. Zona in room 315

    The 21st Century Prep program is designed to provide academic programming for students seeking support in Math.  This program allows re-teaching of previously taught math concepts, pre-teaching of future math concepts and provides individualized instruction to meet the unique needs of each student.  Programming is one hour with eighth grade students being the target group

     

    Niagara UniversityLiteracy Support Program

    Mondays with Professor Elizabeth Yarussi in room 325

    Through the 21st CCLC grant, undergraduate Niagara University students provide remedial literacy support for Gaskill Preparatory students.  Skills such as reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary are just a few of the many skills address throughout the fall and spring semesters.
