Soap Box Derby

Did you know that we hold an annual soap box derby?  We have two divisions.  One division is pre-fabbed cars that students race head to head, testing their driving and car maintenance skills.  The second division is building your own division. This year's event is scheduled for Friday June 3, 2022 at 6pm in front of the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center. Drones

FTW (For The Win) Robotics is a STEM-based experiential education company using Drones as an effective way for students to explore engineering, computer science, aviation and more. 

From flight theory and design to basic coding, FTW’s lessons and activities help students gain a well-rounded perspective on this emerging new technology.  Drone exploration inspires students to seek and discover the infinite career possibilities within STEM. FTW also facilitates student-driven competitions that promote collaboration, stimulate critical thinking, and encourage exploration, which are essential skills for a next-generation workforce.

STEAM Rocks

A project that we started several years ago with both prep schools.  Students design rocks, paint them, apply a 3d bar code, and then write an essay as to why they chose that design.  We then photograph every rock with its essay so that when people find them out and about they can scan the barcode and read their essay as well as let us know where they found the rock.

What's so Cool About Manufacturing

The annual What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? video contests excite students to explore cool manufacturing careers and produce profiles of companies throughout Western New York. The teams of students and teacher coaches receive camera equipment and professional guidance as they learn to script, record, and edit their video stories. This project is in conjunction with the Buffalo Manufacturing Alliance and Northlands Workforce Training Center. More about the contest HERE.
