Welcome to Miss Martin's web page!
June 1st, 2020
Hi my friends,
We have made it to the last full week of instruction! I appreciate the efforts you have made to stay on top of your work this last quarter. All work is due to your teachers by Friday, June 5th! (Including Reading Plus/AIS work).
Tomorrow is the day for those awesome people in my homebase to come clean out your locker. It will be from 9-11 am. Remember to wear a mask. I can’t wait to see you!
Mrs. Hyland wanted me to share that for those in our ELA classes, getting some ELA work done for us this marking period will be a HUGE help to your overall average, especially those who may not be passing for the year (remember, add up Q1, Q2, and Q3 grades, then divide by 3. That’s your average for the year). Complete work online or return packets to school ASAP.
Stay safe, stay strong, and I’ll see you guys tomorrow morning! :D

I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend with your family. We are nearing the home stretch, and these last two weeks will be so important in helping you move to the next steps.
All work for both Mrs. Salleh and Mrs. Hyland is due on June 5th. Please make sure you are checking either my Assignments tab, or their Assignment tabs on their respective web pages, for the slides you are responsible for on each Subunit.
I would like you all to use these last couple of weeks to show me, Mrs. Hyland, and Mrs. Salleh where you are in the writing process. You will not find the usual sentence frames on my site this week, because I'd like you to PUSH yourself to frame your written responses while using the RACE method you are so familiar with! Remember, restating the question by answering in a complete sentence gets you halfway there! This is your time to shine, and show us you are prepared for the next big step - high school!!!
However, I am STILL here to help you with any questions or concerns you have! Please reach out to me through Remind or Microsoft Teams, and I will help you ASAP. I want to see you succeed!
Remember to complete your Reading Plus assignments online, or turn in your packets to school, to get AIS credit also! Time is running out!

Let’s continue to do our best to rise above these trying times, and finish the year doing our best work! You will find a new assignment posted for Mrs. Hyland’s class on her page. For Mrs. Salleh, please take this time to finish anything from the past month that you haven’t completed yet. Mrs. Hyland requires all of her work done by JUNE 5th, so please make sure you are keeping up online or completing your packet at home!
On my Assignments tab, find all kinds of sentence starters and helpful tips to get you through the Holocaust unit up through Subunit 4, Lesson 2. All of the past Subunit tips are also available if you need to catch up!
Finally, teachers (including myself) are marking in Powerschool those that have completed work online OR turned in packets to school. While you will not find a traditional numerical grade under Q4 (quarter 4), you should see a lowercase “i” for info. If you click on this “i” for each of your classes, you will see a list of classwork your teacher has assigned, as well as the mark that applies to you (completed or incomplete). Please check those to ensure your teachers received your work!
I continue to be available on Remind for those of you who need some extra help with your work. Message me anytime, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
I miss you all very much. Stay safe and healthy, and let’s push to finish the year on a great note!

(See "Links" page for this information).

I miss you all! I hope you and your families are healthy and safe.
Remember to check out the "Assignments" tab on the side of my page. ELA assignments for Mrs. Hyland, Mrs. Salleh, and myself are updated weekly. I have many helpful sentence starters and tips for all of the writing components for your Amplify work. Please use them! You will find your work a little easier to complete when you know what your focus is for each question. (Find Mrs. Hyland's web page here and find Mrs. Salleh's website here.)
Reading Plus assignments should be completed weekly for those with Internet access. If you DO NOT have any internet access, readings have been provided for you in your packets you will pick up from school. These will be your grade for AIS class. Please make EVERY effort to email or send a Remind message with your completed AIS work rather than dropping off physical packets.
Remember to find me on Remind for updates, as well as a quick and easy way to reach out for help. You can also join my Microsoft Teams page. Instructions to join both can be found under the "Past Updates and Need-To-Know" section.
Please contact me with any questions! I'm here for you!
