Niagara Street Elementary School Vision and Goals

  • VISION

The Niagara Street Elementary School community consists of educators, support staff, parents, and community partners working together to provide a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment for all students. All Niagara Street stakeholders are committed to preparing our students for graduation from high school and college, and becoming good character citizens that follow school rules, and the laws in our community. We aim to develop the whole child!

Academics - Our Teachers, Support Staff, and Administrative Team have embraced the Common Core Standards. Our language Arts and Math programs continue to promote “best practice” in the field of elementary education. Our mission is to prepare NSS students with the necessary Language Arts and Math skills to flourish in prep school, high school, and college, while at the same time encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a life-long appreciation for learning.

Developing the whole child - We strive to develop the social and emotional growth of each and every child through student clubs, teams, and school-wide character education. Every child has a strength, and these activities help students to discover what they love to do. Our hope is that students leave NSS as kind, helpful, tolerant, and productive students and citizens.

Technology – Niagara Street offers 1 to 1 technology for all students. Every student has a laptop. Students will take part daily in the use of interactive smart boards, laptop work, educational technology programs, and our new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) lab.

    GOALS

To closely monitor and raise student academic achievement in Language Arts and Math through frequent classroom data analysis, and the implementation of best practice instructional strategies.
