This week is the second week in our unit study about balls.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
*Please monitor your child when watching the stories-safety first!
Here you will find the daily stories, questions, and activites. Please note that all links are in RED.
Young children are focused on the present, helping to build a daily schedule with them helps the young child learn about time and learn about sequence. A schedule also helps them feel secure, because they know what to expect and what's going to happen.
Here is a great link to help you get started with one:
Teaching Strategies also has a full link with videos to help you as you work at home:
Question of the day-Do heavy balls bounce?(like a bowling ball)
Be creative and build a bridge for the Billy goats to cross over. Use things you have around the house, legos, cardboard, paper, anything will work! Do you think all of the Billy goats will be able to walk over your bridge?
Please send pictures!
Question of the day-Do all balls roll? Try testing the balls that you have to see if they all roll.
Sing the song to go along with the book!
Activity- Do you like to play a sport using a ball? Draw a picture of you with that ball, and then wite some letters or words to go with it.
*Parents- allow your child to write the letters to go with the words that they can. Some may be able to hear the sounds of the words and know how to write the corresponding letter.
Question of the day- Do you think you could roll a pancake?
(This link will take you to the Tumble book site.
Please message me for the username and password if you have not yet used it)
Discussion: How is this book different from The Three Billy Goats Gruff?
How is it the same?
Here is a different version of the story in the form of a song- the ending is different, and it's all about kindness. I would love to know what you think aout this!
Activity: If the weather is nice, go outside and try bouncing the balls that you have. Which ball bounces the highest?
