    Please complete the following tasks during the Principal-directed time on March 17th:

    1. Art & Primary Teachers (K-2):

    You will have 30 minutes of Art Enrichment in your classroom, scheduled weekly during Semester 2. Please respond to this short survey about how you and Mr. Jocoy are using this time to integrate art into instruction. 

    2.  Art and Physical Education Teachers:

    Utilize time today to identify areas in your curriculum/lessons where the concepts below can be integrated into your instruction at each level.  Be prepared to discuss the opportunities at our next scheduled Department Meeting.  It is expected that you will be able to cite specific activities and /or instructional strategies.  Know that the ELA and the EMA are evaluations of our entire instructional program, which includes Art, Music and Physical Education.

    3.  PK-2 Classroom Teachers:

    Take an inventory of your Fundations materials and reach out regarding any supply needs - leading into the Focus Walks planned for March 21 & 23.  The Wilson Fundations Walk-Through Document is linked here.

    4.  PK-6 Teachers & ENL:

    We will continue to discuss strategies in support of the identified standards at our grade level and department meetings.  Please bring student work artifacts that support our on-going discussions about the standards, pre-skills and vertical concepts we have identified to our next grade level meeting.  Use some time today to identify current examples or plan for additional student work.  

    5.  K-5 ELA Teachers:

    Please review the ELA Core Resource packages ahead of the final selection process. 

    6. All Teachers/NFT Staff:

    1. If you have not done so yet, watch the video linked here regarding the importance of being trauma informed in our interactions with students.  I am asking you to reflect upon the strategies and tools that you are currently using to create an emotional safe space in your classroom.  If you have not yet taken steps in these areas, take some time today to identify at least 2 things that you are doing or can do to make your classroom emotionally safe. Please complete the survey linked here as evidence of your reflection.
    2. Take some time today to prepare for Parent-Teacher Conferences, emphasizing student accountability in each conference.  Conferences should be student led and oriented toward student self-assessment and progress monitoring.  Prepare to log your meetings.
    3. Grades need to be entered in 6 days (by 3:00PM on March 23rd for Trimester 2).  Take some time to make sure that your gradebook is up to date.

    2.  Classroom Teachers - Update the Class Template to include your students' performance and growth on the Winter administration of the NWEA in Math and Reading linked here. (30 min)

    3.  All Staff - Complete the Mid-year Staff Survey for our SCEP School Improvement Plan linked here. (10 min)

    4.  All Staff - Watch the video linked here regarding the importance of being trauma informed in our interactions with students.  I am asking you to reflect upon the strategies and tools that you are currently using to create an emotional safe space in your classroom.  If you have not yet taken steps in these areas, take some time today to research, think about and develop some.  Note your take aways and impressions as this video will be the subject of conversations to come.  You will be asked to share when we meet next. (35 min)

    5.  At our next Elementary (February 13th) and Intermediate (February 14th) Department Meeting you will be asked to bring student work artifacts that support our on-going discussions about the NYS Standards, pre-skills and vertical concepts we identified at the start of the year.  Use some time today to identify current examples of student work or plan for new work you will share that aligns with the targets we discussed. (30 min)  

    6. Primary Teachers (Grades K-2) - You will have 30 minutes of Art Enrichment in your classroom, scheduled weekly during Semester 2. Use some time today to identify (in writing) art integration opportunities in your weekly lessons/curriculum or ideas for a semester-long project that you will co-teach with Mr. Jocoy.  He will be coming to your room on the morning of February 3rd to discuss your ideas and the implementation of co-taught activities. (30 min)
