PEP stands for Primary Enhancement Program.
It is an intervention program that began in the 2008-2009 school year with all the first grade classes. It expanded in the 2009-2010 school year to kindergarten classes. 2010-2011 PEP expanded to include 2nd grade. In the 2011-2012 school year the final roll-out included grades 3 and 4.
Our goal is to provide a safety net for students. It is a safety net that supports the instruction that the classroom teacher provides. PEP is helping the classroom teacher meet all the various literacy needs in his/her classroom.
This safety net is within the school day. We use a universal screening tool known as AIMSweb. See AIMSweb on website for more information.
Parents will receive notification that their child has been identified to receive PEP Intervention services. If you have questions please contact your child's PEP Interventionist.
