Below I have posted reading assignments that go along with the Journeys lessons that you are working on for class. Each week I will keep up the previous weeks lesson for you to continue to work on and I will add the current weeks Journeys lesson. Have a great week and I look forward to hearing from everyone soon.

Today we are going to be reading 2 stories and answer questions that go along with the story. The first story is called The Farm. This is a story about a farmer and the things that he does on the farm.
Story 2 is called Good Ideas. This is a story about a brother and sister who learn to work together to complete their chores .

Guided Reading: Please read the following story with an adult and answer the questions
Summary: Molly loves to play ball. She plays with her friends, but she wants to play more so she joins a new team. She is nervous at first, but as soon as she sees a bat and ball, she feels more comfortable. When she hits the ball, another player sees what a good hitter she is and welcomes her to the team.

When you read this story think about what you know about baseball. What do you know about playing baseball? Have you ever joined a new team? What does it feel like if you don’t know anyone on your team? This story is about a girl named Molly who loves to play ball. Before you read the story take the time to look through each page and think about what the story is about. This is like painting a picture in your mind and this can help you understand the story when you read it.
Now go back to the beginning of the story and read it from the beginning. When you have finished reading I would like you to re-read it again and then answerer the questions. Have fun reading!

Summary: Plants and Animal Partners is a factual book about the different ways plants and animals depend on each other for their survival. Plants help animals by giving them food and shelter, and protection against predators, and protection from the elements; animals help plants by spreading their seed.

Before you read go to page 2 and look at the picture. What is the purpose of the diagram on this picture? Now go to page 4. Suppose you read page 4 but couldn’t get the meaning? What could you do?
Now turn back to the beginning of the book and read to find out how plants and animals help each other.
After you read the story respond to the questions that I have posted. I f you cannot print you may write the answers on a separate piece of paper or in a notebook.
