I am posting some review and some reading passages to practice.
I will be adding things weekly to what is posted
Activity Ideas for Passages
Read the passage with a parent or friend and use a finger or a pencil to scoop the sentences into chunks that help you understand the story. Try to picture what is happening in the story as you read. Go back to parts that you do not understand and read them again.
Here are some activity ideas that you can compete after reading he story. Choose at least 2 or 3 per story
- Draw a picture of your favorite even from the story
- Read the passage out loud to someone else.
- Illustrate what might happen next in the story
- Act out your favorite part of the story
- Underline three words from the passage that were hard to picture. Look them up in a dictionary and put them on an index card for additional practice
- Find all current high frequency words in the passage and highlight them. Then write each sentence that has those high frequency words
- Using a pencil, draw your phrasing (scooping0 for each sentence. The read the passage out loud again using your scoop as a guide
I have also included some skills review practice.
These are skills that were introduced previously. Please have your student practice over the next 2 weeks and then I will post additional practice
