P-TECH is a public education reform initiative that blends early college access with early career preparation. Designed as a grades 9–14 program, P-TECH enables students to earn both a high school diploma and a no-cost, two-year postsecondary degree in a STEM field.
Students engage in a wide range of workplace experiences, including mentorship, worksite visits, and paid internships. By graduation, they have developed the academic foundation and professional skills needed to continue their education at a four-year institution or begin entry-level careers in Mechanical Technology.
The P-TECH model is structured for completion within 5–6 years and is committed to serving all students, regardless of background.
The ideal student:

- Enjoys using math and science to solve challenging problems
- Is willing to put in the effort required to earn a college degree
- Wants early access to college-level courses
- Is interested in workplace internships during high school
- Is committed to completing the degree at SUNY Niagara for 1–2 years after high school
