    NYS STANDARDS                                                                                                                                                 

    Lesson Objectives: To have students demonstrate the ability to follow directions. To have students demonstrate the proper techniques used while working out and it's importance.                                      

    Focus of Instruction: Warm-ups: Explain the importance of warming up properly before they begin their workouts. Workout: Explain to the students that they should take their time while working out so they can understand all the benefits of the workout and it's importance. Cool - Down: Talk to the students about how they must finish the workout with the proper cool down, and why!

    Organization: Have the students make a chart so they can keep track of their workouts, or they can keep track of the workouts on a calender.

    Time: 30 minutes daily

    Teaching Tips: Tell the students that they have to warm-up to stretch, not stretch to warm-up. So have them jump rope for 3-5 minutes before starting their warm-ups of stretching. Workouts should be done slowly, they should find a good pace and add to that pace every week. Do it RIGHT to get the best results.
