Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education through school parent groups, volunteer activities developed in each school, and Board of Education committees.
A District‐Wide Parent Committee, comprised of members from each school’s parent group, acts as a liaison between the individual schools and the superintendent. Individual schools will name two representatives and one alternate to the District‐Wide Parent Committee. For more information, contact your school’s parent group.
Parents volunteer many hours of work in classrooms and help to supervise field trips, keep students focused, and make sure assignments are completed. They reinforce the importance of each day’s class work.
The benefit of parent involvement is incalculable and irreplaceable. Even occasional help shows a child that school matters. Just staying in touch with the school makes a big difference.
